Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements Effective TODAY September 22
Effective
TODAY, September 22nd, 2021, as per the direction of the Province of Ontario, Loyalist Township is implementing proof of COVID-19 vaccination requirements to enter the Leisure & Activity Centre, W.J. Henderson Recreation Centre, and Amherstview Community Hall.
Individuals as noted in the following two categories will be required to provide proof of full vaccination or medical exemption to enter identified Township facilities.-
A participant 18 years old or older OR- A spectator or companion not actively participating in a program or organized activity who is 12 years old or older
Please note, players will still have to complete their Loyalist Minor Hockey COVID 19 check in on-line and include their companion names as required by our return to play policy.
This will be a two step process with a Township Security Representative at the door checking for proof of vaccination, where appropriate, and then a confirmation of a completed on-line screening at the entry table.
What proof do I need to show?
September 22nd to October 21st Individuals who fall into the above criteria must show government issued photo ID and proof of full vaccination. Full vaccination is defined by the Province as:
• The full series of a COVID-19 vaccine authorized by Health Canada, or any combination of such vaccines, OR
• One or two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine not authorized by Health Canada, followed by one dose of a COVID-19 mRNA vaccine authorized by Health Canada, OR
• Three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine not authorized by Health Canada; AND• They received their final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before providing the proof of being fully vaccinated.
After October 22nd Individuals will be able to provide paper proof in the same process as described above or they will be able to present a QR code that will be scanned using the Province's app for businesses to verify vaccination or medical exemption status to gain admission to the facilities.
Medical Exemptions Individuals who have a medical exemption that allows them to participate or enter our facilities without being vaccinated must provide written documentation that has been completed and supplied by a physician (designated as “MD”) or by a registered nurse in the extended class (designated as “Registered Nurse (Extended Class)”, “RN(EC)”, “Nurse Practitioner” or “NP”) stating that the individual is exempt for a medical reason from being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and the effective time-period for the medical reason.
Should individuals be unable to present proof of COVID-19 vaccination or medical exemption upon attempted entry, they will be turned away and may not be eligible to receive a refund for any fees paid.
For additional provincial COVID-19 information please visit www.covid-19.ontario.ca. We thank you in advance for your cooperation as we adjust operations and offerings in order to meet provincial regulations while continuing to offer hockey programming to the community. LTMHA COVID Policy is available also on our website.
For hockey specifically all current OMHA, OHF and Hockey Canada COVID protocols are still in place.
Players born in 2009 or earlier must be double vaccinated by October 31st to remain on the ice. This policy does not apply to hockey players born after 2009 . The last day to receive a second shot is October 17th to meet the implementation deadline for OMHA play.
Please help us to deal with these on going changes with patience and respect for all involved including security, arena staff, hockey staff other patrons and most importantly this kids who just want to play! Everyone has a job to do as we are in this together!
Thank you,
