Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements Updated
Submitted By Paul Proderick on Sat 12 04, 21
The following is an update from Loyalist Township regarding the recent update from Public Health. AS ALL OUR PLAYERS OVER 12 are vaccinated the only change is that they now must provide proof every time they enter the building. The direction for the Township and Public Health reads as follows.

Given the rise in positive cases in the area, KFL&A Public Health has issued a Letter of Instruction expanding the provincial proof of vaccination requirements for recreation facilities. The change impacts anyone attending the W.J. Henderson Recreation Centre and Leisure & Activity Centre that are 12 years of age or older.

Effective 12:01a.m. on December 6, 2021, each person 12 to 17 years of age entering the facility must provide proof of vaccination in accordance with the following:

December 6, 2021 12:01 a.m. require proof of vaccination of first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and identification or proof of being entitled to a medical exemption, in the same manner as described in O.Reg.364/20 and the Ministry of Health’s Proof of Vaccination Guidance for Businesses and Organizations under the Reopening Ontario Act.

February 25, 2022 12:01 a.m. require proof of vaccination of full series of COVID-19 vaccine and identification or proof of being entitled to a medical exemption, in the same manner as described in O.Reg.364/20 and the Ministry of Health’s Proof of Vaccination Guidance for Businesses and Organizations under the Reopening Ontario Act.

This change is in addition to the provincial regulations regarding proof of vaccination that are already in place for the W.J. Henderson Recreation Centre and the Leisure & Activity Centre indicating that: Youth (12-17 years old) spectating, including at sports events, proof of full vaccination required Adults (18+) accessing the facility for any purpose, proof of being full vaccination required. Our staff continue to monitor the regulations and implement changes based on the province regulations, KFL&A PHU instructions and our facility layout.

We will continue to move forward and implement changes where and when possible. We appreciate everyone’s understanding and patience as we continue to work through the pandemic. Please be reminded that every facility is different and must try to work within their means as these regulations continuously change.  If you have any questions regarding the updates, do not hesitate to reach out.

Thank you,
Loyalist Township
